1. What inspired you to write your first book?
For whatever reason, I felt the time was finally right. I spent many years thinking my stories were too dark and I can’t use that excuse anymore. I’m not getting any younger, and if I am ever going to write all the stories I have in my noggin, I have to get busy.

2. Writing can be a difficult job, what inspires you to keep going?
My stories float around in my brain. They drive me nuts until I write them down and then I am able to move forward. I think I keep writing so I don’t go crazy trying to live the stories in my brain!

3. What are you working on now? What’s next?
My second book in the Spirit Warrior YA series is presently in editing. There will be a total of five books in that series, and maybe a prequel! After that, I will start on a series of children’s books from stories I told my daughter when she was little. When I finish that, I have an adult book floating around in my brain. After that….who knows?

I have no process. I just write whenever and wherever I am. I am hopelessly disorganized. I do my best work in a quiet house with snoring dogs.
