Internet marketing is the process of reaching and subsequently establishing relationships with prospective customers online.  It begins with a website, the heart of an Internet marketing strategy.  Other Internet marketing initiatives are:

  • Search engine optimization  (SEO) – utilizing keywords relevant to the business to drive traffic to the website through increased visibility on search engines such as Google and Bing.  As known as organic placement.
  • Pay-per-click advertising (PPC) – bidding on chosen keywords to selectively deliver advertisements to search engine users.
  • Directory Listings – paying to be included in high traffic websites that are directories.
  • Social Media Marketing – using social media networks like Twitter, Tumblr, and Facebook (to name a few) to interact with consumers in the target market.
  • Email marketing – digital direct marketing where contacts from either purchased or established lists are sent marketing materials.
