I recently hosted a contest on my website. One of the winners was a long-time fan of mine. She won a signed copy of My Cup of Tea. A few days after receiving the book in the mail, she sent me a thank you video. After watching the video, I was teary. She told me how much it meant to her to have received a signed copy of my book. She said she was nervous while making the video. To me, she was sincerely grateful, happy, and teary — the joyful kind of teary. She reminded me of why I write, despite having a crazy schedule. I wake up at 6:00am every morning to prepare breast milk for my baby. Then I make breakfast for my husband, wake up my baby, feed him, dress him, and drop him off before I board the train at 7:30am. I’m at work by 8:30am and I’m there until 5:00pm. By 6:00pm, I pick up my baby before having dinner, and it’s not until 1:00am that I get to sleep. When baby sleeps, I write for about half an hour before going to bed. The demands from daily life can’t stop me from doing what I love: writing. I write for all the romantics and dreamers out there who love immersing themselves in imaginary worlds. To me, there are few hobbies better than reading and writing, and I love sharing my imagination with my dedicated readers.
When you love what you do, and others love what you do, you’ll find time to do it, no matter how rough and tough your life is.
Happy reading and writing everyone!
And a big thank you to Readers and Writers Connect for welcoming me as a guest blogger.
