People have been talking about the Illuminati for ages. There are a lot of different takes on what or who the Illuminati are. Let’s start with the original Illuminati. They were called the Bavarian Illuminati and founded in 1776. The Bavarian Illuminati was a secret society formed to “oppose superstition, prejudice, religious influence over public life, abuses of state power, and to support women’s education and gender equality” (Wikipedia, 2014).
Over time, the mystique of the Illuminati has grown to include many believed activities and conspiracies: devil worship, the assassination of John F. Kennedy, and a supposed New World Order (with the basic goal of world domination). The symbol of this New World Order is said to be the triangle.
So, who has been linked to the Illuminati in the modern-day era? Pretty much every President you can think of. Here is also a short-list of the most popular:

So what gives? What are the common denominators between the individuals on those lists? Better still…the question is, do you believe Jay-Z and company unwind by having orgies, performing ritual sacrifices to Satan, and conducting secret meetings on how to use vaccinations to control the population (these are just some of the more colorful activities laid at the feet of the Illuminati).
If you don’t….then what do you believe the Illuminati is? Is it just a metaphor? I dare say it is…I’ll explain. According to our pals at Webster’s a metaphor is defined as, “a word or phrase for one thing that is used to refer to another thing in order to show or suggest that they are similar” or “an object, activity, or idea that is used as a symbol of something else.”
If you look at the lists above and now think about the Illuminati as a metaphor, a pattern emerges. Is it a stretch?…well yeah…but this is subjective. All of the people on the list are either very wealthy (some of the riches families in the world), very powerful (The Bush family), or rich & famous entertainers. All of which are placed on a pedestal in modern society. That pedestal includes being able to start trends, control the media, and influence the way people think. Isn’t it possible that is all the Illuminati is now? A metaphor for the people in positions to control what and how people think? Its possible….
